The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern are saddened to see their team slump to a mid-table finish when this season had the potential to be the time when they returned to the top flight.
The Whites were doing well but then it all went drastically down-hill and the team are now left with little confidence in themselves and need a big boost ahead of next season. This summer transfer window could be the most important for Leeds in a long while, considering that if signings immediately hit the ground running, they could seriously this time look forward and hope for Premier League football.
One player who has previously proven himself in the Championship and would make a solid acquisition at Elland Road is Crystal Palace’s Lee Chung Yong, who is valued at £1.35 million on Transfermarkt. The 29-year-old is unused and out of favour at Selhurst Park meaning this could be a great time for Leeds to swoop in and get their man.
The winger played almost 200 games for Bolton during their time floating between the Premier League and the Championship but Lee was always on hand to provide an assist for his team-mates, which he did so well with 36 during his time wearing the white of Bolton.
In the last few seasons, Lee Chung Yong has struggled with injuries but the opportunity of regular football again with Leeds may sway Lee to opt for a move down a division. Given that this summer his contract is up at Leeds, it is likely there will be a lot of competition for an all-around kind of player like Lee is.
If Leeds want to improve their team, a free deal to sign the 29-year-old is a good way to start.
