It’s been far from pretty watching Leeds this season, even the Lilywhite fans within the Transfer Tavern can agree with that. With no sign of a better season next time out, Leeds have to be ambitious in the transfer market this summer to renew the optimism around Elland Road.
With Leeds a lot closer to the bottom of the league rather than the top, that really does prove how bad this season has been so far. They look a side stripped of ideas and creativity and if they don’t do something in the summer to fix that, the Whites can again expect another season of disappointment.
With that in mind, it’s believed that Leeds will attempt to bring a former fans favourite back to the club in the form of Adam Clayton. Having been told years ago that he was surplus to requirements at Elland Road, the 29-year-old has gone on to produce a stellar career at fellow Championship side Middlesborough.
Now it seems that Clayton again maybe unwanted so this would be the perfect time for Leeds to swoop in for the £2.70 million man (according to Transfermarkt.) It’s safe to say that Leeds are not short on midfield options but the addition of Adam Clayton would provide an added quality that Leeds, at the moment, do not have.
The central-midfielder has made 28 appearances for Tony Pulis’ thus far but won’t be short of transfer offers this summer, with a whole host of clubs surely lining up to sign him. Us punters would like to think Leeds are at the front of the queue mind you because he really is a player who could provide a much-needed boost to Elland Road in the hope of a better campaign next season.
