Leeds United are gearing up for next season and life after Garry Monk, and it has already been a pretty busy summer at Elland Road with a month to go until the big kick off.
New manager Thomas Christiansen is now the man in charge, and he will be looking to put his own stamp on proceedings at the Yorkshire club and turn them into serious promotion contenders next year.
Our landlord here in the Tavern has been spending some time with the Leeds lot over by the bar this week, and Onthere is a strong feeling among fans that with a few decent additions, they could well gatecrash the top six.
One player who our gaffer thinks could do a job at Elland Road is current Derby midfielder Jacob Butterfield, who was in and out of the Rams team last season.
The former Barnsley and Norwich City midfielder is a quality player on his day, and at 27 should be about to enter the prime years of his career.
Butterfield is the sort of midfielder who should excel in the Championship, yet he seems to lack a little bit of consistency. His time at Derby has been littered with new managers and off field problems in terms of the boardroom and other players, and he could well see his future away from the club.
Born in Bradford, he might well see a move to Leeds as the ideal move for him, with the option of being closer to home something which could well appeal to him.
He would be an excellent capture for Leeds, and would compliment the new signing of Vurnon Anita extremely well indeed.
