Leeds United: Whites fans react to Samuel Saiz’s goal for Getafe

It was not too long ago at all that Samuel Saiz was on the verge of becoming a modern-day hero at Elland Road following his escapades for Leeds United during the 2017/18 campaign.
A highly successful debut season for the Whites saw him fire in five goals in the Championship whilst also providing eight assists for his team-mates with performances against the likes of Bristol City, Sunderland and Barnsley creating a buzz amongst the club’s supporters.
However, despite initially being part of Marcelo Bielsa’s plans for the current campaign, a number of underwhelming performances saw him lose his place in Leeds’ squad which culminated in him leaving West Yorkshire to join Getafe in January.
Although his appearances for the La Liga side have been sporadic in recent months, Saiz finally demonstrated just what he is capable of in-front of goal on Sunday. With the Azulones trailing 2-0 to Real Sociedad, the winger fired in an unstoppable curling effort which was unfortunately not enough to help his side launch a comeback at the Anoeta Stadium.
Nevertheless, the sublime strike by Saiz was enough for Leeds fans on Twitter to plead for him to come back to the club ahead of the play-offs.

The decision to recall the 28-year-old from his loan spell will ultimately come down to a combination on whether Getafe want to keep him and if Bielsa is willing to have him back at Elland Road.
An undeniably talented player, it would be a remarkable twist if Saiz does indeed feature once again for the Whites this season.
