Possible Everton departure could spell summer problems for Leeds – report

Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be bracing themselves for a tough summer transfer window after news has emerged regarding a possible departure from a Premier League outfit.

Everton are set to lose Leighton Baines to the MLS, with both Los Angeles Galaxy and Los Angeles FC rumoured to be interested in signing him, according to The Sun.

And the news that the 33-year-old could be prepared to quit Goodison Park could raise some concern for the Leeds locals in the bar, as it is being reported that the Toffees could attempt to lure highly-rated Tom Pearce away from Elland Road, having left the Merseysiders in the first place.

It is believed that the England Under-20 star has signed a new deal with the Whites, yet nothing has been confirmed, and the emergence of Everton and their likely need for a left-back could spell problems for Leeds in their bid to retain him over the summer.

Landlord’s Verdict: The locals in the Tavern will be desperate to keep Pearce at the club for as long as possible, and as such would be sad to see him leave without making any real financial gain for a talented prospect.

The left-back was given his first-team opportunity by the club recently and punters in the bar will be hoping that he will repay the faith they have shown in him by signing a new deal to remain at Elland Road.

But the lure of returning to Everton as a possible replacement for Baines could be too good to turn down.
