While the Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been annoyed about the recent relative dip in form, many of our punters have been delighted with a few things this season.
Indeed, the Whites who prop up our bar love waxing poetic about the club’s famed academy system, one that has produced some top talent in recent years. including the likes of Sam Byram, Ronaldo Viera and Kalvin Philipps.
So, confirmation from the club’s official website that they’d be hosting an open academy trial for school years 1-7 in an effort to unearth some more hidden gems in the local area has gone down very well. Eager to see the club develop some more exciting talent, the Yorkshiremen in our Tavern are delighted that the process shows no signs of slowing down.
Though the immediate aim is obviously making it back into the Premier League after such a long absence, Leeds’ academy is a huge reason to smile for the punters in our bar and they hope the success can continue.
If Leeds can continue on their upward trajectory while continuing to bring through youngsters, it’s happy days at Elland Road. A club on the up, building from within will be a huge part of their project to restore former glories.
