Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting Marcelo Bielsa to make a number of changes after he was announced as the new manager, and he could be prepared to offload one man already.
It is no secret that the Whites are looking to improve on their abysmal season last year, where they finished in the bottom half of the Championship table, despite having started the season very well.
Bielsa will need to look at a number of areas to improve the squad, with the goalkeeping situation standing out like a sore thumb for many. However, according to reports, he could be about to let one of them leave Elland Road in the near future.
And that’s because Bild are reporting that Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in taking Felix Wiedwald back to Germany, following his poor performances for the Whites in his first season in English football.
And were the shot-stopper to indeed leave Elland Road after a nightmarish year in Yorkshire, it is unlikely to faze our resident Leeds fans, who have on the whole been unimpressed with Wiedwald since his arrival last summer.
Landlord’s Verdict: The Leeds fans in the Tavern will not be disappointed to see the shot-stopper leave Yorkshire this summer, but they will be hoping they can find another goalkeeper to come in and strengthen the side.
Wiedwald found himself in and out of the team all season, having made a number of costly mistakes having been brought to Elland Road by Thomas Christiansen, but now looks certain to leave the club this summer.
