Ryan Kent the ideal man for Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United project

Leeds United fans can’t wait to see who Marcelo Bielsa will bring to the club in the summer transfer window.

The Whites are yet to make a move in the market since Bielsa replaced Paul Heckingbottom in the dugout. Arrivals and departures are to be expected as the Argentine overhauls his squad and attempts to guide the club back to the Premier League finally. As well as being the highest paid manager in the club’s history, he has been promised a £20m transfer war chest according to reports.

Despite the funds being available to him, the former Argentina boss would be wise to swoop for Liverpool winger, Ryan Kent, to bolster his attack. Valued at £1.35m by Transfermarkt, the 21-year-old will likely be loaned out again next season due to the abundance of attacking talent available to Jurgen Klopp. Xherdan Shaqiri’s arrival will push Kent further down the pecking order.

The Englishman spent endured a difficult 2017/18 season after initially being loaned to Freiburg in Germany, he eventually ended up at Bristol City but quickly fell out of favour. Joining a club halfway through the season was always going to be tough, and Kent struggled to break into a team that had already gelled as a unit.

A fresh start at Elland Road could be just what the youngster needs to get his career back on track. Working with a well-respected coach like Bielsa could do wonders for his development. Leeds would gain a fast, tricky winger with an eye for goal – highlighted in Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against Chester.

Kent to Leeds makes sense for all parties.
