With Bielsa at the helm, Leeds have ambitions of finally looking to return to the Premier League. The Yorkshire club are looking to make multiple signings this summer but as of yet, have only managed to bring in Lewis Baker. One player who’s already at the club and could be a crucial ingredient in Bielsa’s team, is Tom Pearce.
In his new look Leeds side, Bielsa will want fullbacks who are great going forward and are dynamic. A Leeds academy product, Tom Pearce is going to be crucial for the side going forward. The youngster is one of the White’s brightest young players and after an impressive run in the under-23s, he managed to play five games in the Championship in the second-half of the season. Although he only played a few games in the season, he was arguably Leeds’ most consistent left back over the whole season.
The 20-year-old could go on to become a superb player under Bielsa, however, if the Argentinian boss is keen on bringing in Bristol City’s, Joe Bryan, a loan move for Pearce might not be a bad idea.
The club obviously sees a future for Peace at the club but having only played five first-team games, a loan away to gain further experience could be vital in his development.
If Pearce stays at the club, he’ll probably improve greatly as a player and likely be a vital cog in Bielsa’s team. If the youngster is sent away on loan, he’ll get regular game time and come back a better player. Either scenario, Pearce will probably be better for it. Therefore, it’s just a matter of what Bielsa wants to do with him, either way he’s going to be a solid player for the club.
