Leeds United continued their recent struggles this weekend as they lost out to rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road, going down 2-1 thanks to an injury time winner for the away side.
The Whites have not quite been at it for most of the season, and the change in manager from Thomas Christiansen to Paul Heckingbottom seems to have done little to change results in West Yorkshire.
Here in the Tavern, we always welcome plenty of Leeds fans into the bar, and this weekend has been no different, with discussions soon turning to the summer and who the club should look to sign in order to get things in line at Elland Road.
One player our landlord has mentioned about the club signing is current Nottingham Forest loanee Lee Tomlin, who has been delivering some excellent performances since moving to the City Ground from Bristol City in January.
An experienced head in the second tier, Tomlin could be the perfect sort of signing for Leeds and Heckingbottom after last summer saw the club bring in a number of relative unknowns from across the continent.
Tomlin is a class act though at Championship level, and has the ability to play both up top and in the middle of the park these days. He’s the sort of clever footballer who can change a game in an instant with a moment of magic, and could well thrive under the spotlight of playing for such a big club like Leeds.
Leeds and Forest fans, what do you think? Give us your thoughts in the comments!
