Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for their side to get going this season coming as they are one of the sides expected to challenge for the top six.
The men from Elland Road have had a busy old summer so far with Thomas Christiansen coming in as manager and the stadium being reacquisitioned – following Andrea Radrizzani’s buyout of Massimo Cellino.
For sure, then, matters off of the pitch are looking as stable as they have done for some time at the Yorkshire club and fans will certainly be hoping that that translates into results on the pitch.
Whilst we wait to see what happens, though, it seems as though the club will have to pay a pretty significant fee of £5 million if they want to sign Filip Helander from Bologna – as per Joe Rawson on Twitter:
Bologna have signed other defenders and Helander has dropped down the pecking order, they want 5 million for him though #lufc

That, then, could prove a sticking point for the club as it represents a pretty decent outlay for a player to join a Championship club and so it remains if Leeds decide to bring him in.
If they do, though, they’ll be hoping he settles in quickly and forges a strong partnership with the likes of Pontus Jansson in defence.
The men from Elland Road certainly could do with another centre-back thanks to Kyle Bartley looking unlikely to return right now.
And, with Helander a Swede – just like Jansson – it could make sense to bring him in with the view to them getting a decent understanding going.
For sure, a tight defence combined with Chris Wood’s goals up top should see Leeds challenge for the top six once more but the £5 million price tag might be something that needs to be knocked down a bit.
