Leeds currently find themselves in a promising position in the race for automatic promotion, but the same can’t be said about West Brom as they’re waiting for the teams above them to drop points.
The Whites won’t accept anything less than promotion in the current campaign, having looked dominant in recent times under Marcelo Bielsa. Meanwhile, the Baggies can still challenge for an automatic promotion place but they can’t afford to drop many more points if they are to do so.
Interestingly, Leeds United will welcome West Bromwich Albion to Elland Road in the Championship tonight, so we took a look at Mateusz Klich and Stefan Johansen’s influence at their respective clubs.
With that in mind, let’s compare these two transfers…
Mateusz Klich struggled during the first half of his first season at Elland Road, which resulted in a loan move to Dutch side FC Utrecht. But, he’s certainly made up for his slow start to life in England as he’s gone from zero to hero in the current campaign, with an impressive seven goals and seven assists to his name.
Indeed, the Poland international has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Championship and he will continue to play a huge part in Leeds’ promotion push from here on in.
TT GRADE: A-
Stefan Johansen joined West Bromwich Albion back in January after struggling to work his way into Slavisa Jokanovic and Claudio Ranieri’s plans during the first half of the season.
Indeed, it’s safe to say that he’s been a huge disappointment since dropping back down to the Championship, as he’s given the ball away on a number of occasions and looks less than comfortable.
TT GRADE: B-
When comparing these two, it’s safe to say that Mateusz Klich is currently performing at the top of his game, while Stefan Johansen continues to struggle for the Baggies.
It’s hard to believe that Klich was once a flop at Leeds United as he’s gone on to establish himself as a star in the current campaign. Indeed, the 28-year-old has been a key performer for the Whites in recent times, with his performances on the field making Johansen look like a complete waste of a signing in comparison.Like what the TT have on offer?
