The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been toying with the idea of Matej Vydra signing for a while now, with the Derby man currently out injured and missing Frank Lampard’s first pre-season training camp in Tenerife. Fans can read the latest on Vydra on the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Matej Vydra would be a superb signing at Elland Road and the fans would love to see him sign, with his 21 goals and four assists in the Championship last season proving huge to Derby as they secured a place in the playoffs, ultimately losing to Fulham in the semi-finals. Next season, Vydra will be hoping to go one further with Leeds and get back to the Premier League.
Under Marcelo Bielsa, signing players of Vydra’s quality and gaining promotion is a real possibility and if the club can recruit right with Victor Orta and Bielsa combining then they could be back in the English first-division for the 2019/20 season. The Czech striker will be keen to gain promotion next season whether he ends up, although with Frank Lampard looking to gain funds, the 26-year-old could be one of the first to be sold.

Usual signing for us then. Injured, will fit right in with Roberts

The fact is they're playing down a transfer. Everyone knows he has to move this window, whether it's Leeds or not. Derby need the fee to reimburse their own transfer budget and can't spend without some movement on Vydra's behalf.

So in other words he’s been left behind so he can sign for Leeds

Leeds are the only team in for vydra so obviously derby will squeeze as much money out of us as possible

As you can see, the Whites are keen to get Vydra on board and they could be mounting a serious title challenge next season.
