‘Very convenient’ – Leeds United fans on Twitter not surprised by player reports

The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have all been cracking the same joke as Adam Forshaw pulled out of the club’s post-season tour of war-torn Myanmar. According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, the midfielder has picked up a hip injury and will be receiving an injection this week, meaning he’ll miss the club’s two friendly matches in the Far East this week, joining Pontus Jansson, Pablo Hernandez and Liam Cooper on the list of those missing the tour.

The Leeds fans propping our bar up aren’t surprised in the slightest to see players picking up supposed injuries in a big to miss the Myanmar tour. The tour that’s been organised by the club’s owner, Andrea Radrizzani to improve the coverage of his company, Eleven Sport, in the Far East has been a controversial one. Many fans don’t agree with the decision to take the Yorkshire club to a place that has been riddled with issues politically, leading to the culling of huge numbers of people.

The Whites will be hoping that their visit to the country can be a good thing for all parties. The club will be playing against the Myanmar national team and against a Myanmar national league all-star team whilst out on tour. The players will also have an opportunity to visit the country’s main cultural sites and will be holding training and coaching sessions for children in the local area.
