The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting excited today as the well-respected Leeds United journalist, Phil Hay, has broken the news that the Elland Road faithful could be looking at bringing Chelsea’s young midfielder, Lewis Baker to the club this summer.
As per reports last night, Leeds are in for Chelsea midfielder and England U21 international Lewis Baker. Spent time on loan at Middlesbrough last season. Interested in loan or permanent. #lufc

The 23-year-old wasn’t given a real chance last season on-loan at Middlesbrough and he could be set to dip his toes back in the Championship this season with The Whites, however, playing under Marcelo Bielsa will be very different to playing under Tony Pulis as he was last year. In his year at Boro, he made 12 appearances in the Championship and bagged himself one goal. If Baker does end up at Leeds this summer, he’ll be hoping to have more of an impact.
Leeds United have been linked with a number of players that have Championship experience this window as Bielsa obviously seems to have a mould of players he wants to try and achieve promotion for the upcoming campaign. So far, the Whites are yet to make a signing but with both Bielsa and Victor Orta on the case then it should be just a matter of time before the fans can start celebrating some new signings and getting ready for the upcoming season.

Whilst Leeds may not necessarily need another central-midfielder, signing Baker would be a superb move for the club and the fans all know it.
