Leeds United fans are probably still wondering how their side threw away a promising position to let Chris Wilder’s side claim an automatic promotion place.
The Whites’ recent clash with Aston Villa will be remembered for all the wrong reasons, as a combination of Patrick Bamford’s embarrassing behaviour and Marcelo Bielsa gifting the Villans’ a goal created a lot of controversy.
A Leeds fan called Lewis gave his own verdict on Bielsa’s decision to gift Aston Villa a goal. He’s backed the South American and is ‘glad he did it’, with one of his reasons being the fact that Tyler Roberts paused slightly.
Lewis couldn’t be more correct. Bielsa had every right to gift Aston Villa a goal as the Midlands club previously put the ball out for an injury to a Leeds player towards the start of the game, so it was unfair that Leeds went on to find the back of the net with Jonathan Kodjia down injured, especially with Roberts pausing for a split second.
Many fans have voiced their own opinions on the matter but Leeds must now look to put the matter behind them and focus on securing promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
