The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern are starting to enjoy watching their youth sides play more than they are with their senior squad. Leeds’ U18s dispatched Colchester’s U18 side 3-0 as they continued their march towards a playoff spot, whilst the first team have looked allergic to the playoffs over the last few years.

The Leeds fans propping our bar up are having a torrid time in 2018. The club has won just two games since the turn of the year and after looking like they might finally go on and reach a spot in the top six, it all fell apart. Thomas Christiansen was sacked in February after losing 4-1 to Cardiff and the decision to axe the Spaniard has turned out to be a terrible one.
The Elland Road faithful are currently suffering with their side sitting 13th in the Championship following a 1-1 draw against 23rd placed Sunderland on Saturday. Leeds fans would’ve been hoping to take three points off of Sunderland seeing as the Black Cats may as well already be down and facing a double relegation after dropping from the Premier League last year. It wasn’t to be though as Pablo Hernandez equalized with just under 20 minutes to play and The Whites held on for a point.
Taking all of that into account, here’s our resident Leeds fans’ verdict on their youth team’s win:
Better than the first team. 2nd and third goals are excellent. What a touch in the 2nd and great unselfish okay #playtheyoungsters

Second and third goal are pure quality. The first goal, their keepers had a Wiedwald.

Seriously stick 4 or 5 int first team for the remainder of the season. After all, this will be our future! #AllUnderEighteensArentWe
