Leeds United fans here in the Tavern are extremely disappointed after Friday night’s result against Middlesbrough, as a Patrick Bamford hat-trick inflicted a 3-0 defeat on the Whites.
Indeed, with the Championship play-offs now seemingly out of sight for Paul Heckingbottom’s side, Leeds United are now looking for solidity under their newly appointed manager. But, our local residents have been finding it hard to adjust to new management ever since the departure of Thomas Christiansen, as the Whites have only won once since sacking the 44-year-old.
However, it’s the movement of previous manager Garry Monk that’s been causing a stir in the Tavern over the last 24 hours, as the Englishman was announced as fellow Championship side Birmingham City’s new manager. Indeed, the 38-year-old resigned after one season with Leeds United back in 2017, in a campaign that saw the club miss out on a place in the play-offs after securing only one win in their final eight games.
Therefore, having seen Monk throw away their dream of returning back to the Premier League during his time at Elland Road, many supporters shared a negative response to his most recent appointment.
Here’s a closer look at exactly what they said…

Garry Monk getting a 3 and half year deal at Birmingham isn't worth the paper its printed on. Won't be there this next year #lufc

Brought the good times back to Elland Road did he? Bottling playoffs in last few games classes the same as the good old days of UEFA Champions League Semi-Finals right?
