Many Leeds United fans were pleased to see Jean-Kevin Augustin sitting out the under-23s clash against Bolton Wanderers yesterday.
In the side’s last game against Derby County, the striker featured for the Whites before appearing on the substitutes’ bench in the Championship clash against Nottingham Forest two days later. The 22-year-old was signed by the club in the January transfer window from Bundesliga outfit Red Bull Leipzig after Eddie Nketiah returned to Arsenal.
Should Augustin start later, he could replace Patrick Bamford, who has scored just eight times in his last 25 Championship appearances, showing inconsistencies in front of goal (via Transfermarkt). Indeed, even during his cameo at the City Ground, the Frenchman managed a shot more than Bamford had in 71 minutes (as per WhoScored).
