Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been in high spirits all season, and they’re now predicting a Premier League promotion for their side.
The Whites are nailed on for a finish in the playoff positions at a bare minimum, currently in fourth place with just eight games of the season remaining.
They face Reading in a huge clash this Saturday, with Jaap Stam’s side just one place and two points behind them in the Championship table, and a win would go a long way to solidifying their promotion chances.
However, Leeds could be without Championship Player of the Year nominee Chris Wood, who leads the division’s scoring charts this season with 24 goals, after suffering a knock during New Zealand’s 2-0 win over Fiji last weekend.
And Reading counterpart Yann Kermorgant, their top scorer with ten goals this term, has instigated the war of words ahead of kickoff by suggesting Leeds are a one-man team – that one man being the potentially absent Kiwi striker.
As quoted by Yorkshire Evening Post, he said; “Chris Wood has scored nearly all of Leeds’ goals this season. If he gets injured, they have no plan B.”
Needless to say, Leeds fans here in the Tavern and on Twitter aren’t impressed by the former Charlton star’s comments. In fact, they’re pretty livid…
