Yet more bad news emerges for Leeds United

Leeds United fans here in the Tavern are praying that their side can return to winning ways tonight, after putting in a poor performance against Preston North End last time out.

The Whites have had a season to forget in many respects as they’ve gone from early-season promotion contenders to sitting in the bottom half of the table, with nothing to play for from here on in until the end of the season. And, many of our local residents received some disappointing news prior to kick-off at Villa Park tonight, as according to BBC Sport’s pre-match team news, Pontus Jansson is out with a head injury.

Indeed, the Swede has been the standout performer for Leeds United so far this season as a top-class performance is never too far away, but not even he has been able to stop the Whites’ poor run of form in recent times.

And, it looks as if things are about to get a whole lot worse for Paul Heckingbottom’s side, as Jansson is set to miss tonight’s Championship clash against Aston Villa after he was forced off with a head injury against Preston.

So, the Whites will travel to Villa Park to face an in form Aston Villa without their star man, as many of our local residents are beginning to fear the worst.

Landlord’s Verdict:

This is a huge blow for Leeds United as their recent run of poor results has now been made worse with an injury, with defeat tonight possibly causing for a pandemonium. But, having seen how inconsistent Aston Villa have been over the past month, perhaps Paul Heckingbottom could return to Elland Road with all three points.
