Middlesbrough set to meet Norwich City’s valuation for impressive midfielder

Middlesbrough manager Garry Monk is hoping to beat his former club Leeds United to the signing of midfielder Jonny Howson this summer, according to The Mirror.

Norwich City are thought to be valuing the ex-Whites player at £5 million and Monk is hoping to make the 29-year-old his first signing since getting the job at the Riverside Stadium.

Howson has rejected new terms at the Canaries and will seemingly have a new club ready for the big kick-off at the start of August.

Middlesbrough look to have agreed to meet Norwich’s valuation and Monk will naturally be delighted to have such an influential Championship midfielder among his ranks.

A couple of ardent Boro supporters are chatting away in the Tavern when the landlord breaks this news and they are absolutely delighted.

One gets the shots in from the bar and says that the arrival of Howson could literally revive the club from their dismal slump of last season, and throw the club into contention for automatic promotion during 2017/18.

Middlesbrough fans, would you welcome Howson? Let us know in the comments below!!!
