Boro could make a number of changes for Notts County clash

Middlesbrough will be preparing to face Notts County in the League Cup on Tuesday evening and Tony Pulis could be about to make a number of changes.

According to a match preview by Sky Sports, Boro could see wholesale changes following their 1-0 victory against Birmingham City at the weekend, in a match that saw an unchanged side.

The Riverside Stadium outfit have already had a run of three games in eight games and Pulis will be keen his squad is not already burnt out at the early stages of the season, as they chase promotion back to the Premier League.

It is understood that Dimi Konstantopoulos, Grant Leadbitter, Paddy McNair, Marvin Johnson, Marcus Tavernier, Harry Chapman and Ashley Fletcher could all make appearances for the hosts, however, they will be without a few men.

Jordan Hugill, who arrived from West Ham United on a season-long loan, is still working on his match fitness, whilst Daniel Ayala has only just returned to training from injury. Rudy Gestede, however, still remains unavailable.

The Verdict:

Middlesbrough will be looking to progress as far as they can in the competition and will not want to face an early exit to the League Two outfit.

There is always a risk that the side on the night does not perform, especially with the number of changes that could be made.

However, Boro will be fairly confident that they can get the job done and Pulis will be looking for his fringe players to make an impression on the pitch.
