Boro fans take to Twitter to lambaste Gestede after striker rejects Millwall loan

Middlesbrough fans have been left fuming today as they’ve been given the news on Deadline Day that despite their club’s efforts to get rid of Rudy Gestede, at least in the short-term, have come up short as the player has rejected a loan move to Millwall. At the age of 30, the fans are fuming that Gestede won’t be moving on, even on-loan.

This season has seen the Benin international striker given very little game-time. It seems obvious that Tony Pulis doesn’t see Gestede in any of his plans and with just four Championship appearances under his belt this season equalling only 109 minutes, a move for the unwanted front-man was always going to be something that the Boro fans would have wanted.
Middlesbrough haven’t been very active so far today and with Millwall looking to poach their 30-year-old fringe man it looked like that would be one of the only deals to be going through today, yet now it seems not even that will happen. The Riverside Stadium faithful would have been delighted to have gotten the striker off their books, even if just on-loan, yet it seems that won’t be happening today.
You can read the Boro fans’ verdict on the failed Gestede move here:
Just cancel his contract, no one wants to sign him so not gonna get any money back in him, and I bet he’s on big wage, bought when we were Prem Lge, so cut our losses and cancel it, hopeless player

Boro fans everywhere are fuming with the fact they have to put up with Gestede even longer and they’ll be desperate to get him off the wage bill sooner or later.
