Many Middlesbrough fans are growing more concerned over the future of forward Martin Braithwaite, after The Northern Echo revealed the rumour that he is interested in returning to France.
The Dane has already bagged three goals in four games for The Boro and looks in red-hot form as Middlesbrough sit in second in the table.
Now that Middlesbrough look like they are going to miss out on target Yannick Bolasie from Everton, keeping hold of Braithwaite (valued at £7.2m on Transfermarkt.co.uk) becomes even more important to them.
The 27-year-old featured for Denmark in the World Cup this year, as they crashed out on penalties to finalists Croatia in the last 16. However, it looks as though he has taken his good form into the new season.
The Boro host fourth place West Brom at the Riverside on Friday, hoping to secure their place at the head of the table.
With less than 10 days for EFL clubs to secure loan signings, Middlesbrough will be hoping that manager Tony Pulis will be able to persuade his star striker to stay.
Here’s what the fans have to say:
I'd be more devastated if Braithwaite left than I ever was when Adama or Gibbo left us!

Martin Braithwaite 25/1 to be Championship top scorer this season.
IF he stays….

Martin Braithwaite is the best player in the league and there’s nothing you can do about it

I think it's time to cut our losses. To me, right now, it doesn't matter one bit whether Bolasie and/or Besic arrive at #Boro are not – we shouldn't need to rely on them. Keeping Braithwaite, the new Jordan and the likes of Wing, Tavernier and co happy should be our priority.

Scenes when Boro sign no one but still loan out Braithwaite there will be blood on the streets of Teesside and Bauser will need a set of false teeth

If I was Pulis, I'd sit Braithwaite down and just say, no matter who comes in, you're gunna be our main man this season. You'll always start if youre fit and this team will be built around you! He's come back from the World Cup even better than before! Must keep him! #Boro

Keeping Braithwaite is more important than signing Bolasie #boro

Not even bothered anymore as long as Braithwaite stays. Bring on West Brom and Leeds. Up the Boro.

Now Bolasie is off to Villa, getting Besic in and keeping Braithwaite is vital! #Boro
