While Middlesbrough are making a good go of things during their first season back in the Premier League for years, it’s fair to say the mood has turned amongst the supporters in the Transfer Tavern of late.
Following Aitor Karanka’s public criticism of the fans recently, the Spaniard’s apparent frustration in the transfer market has been mooted of late after his rather downbeat appearance in his press conference. Well, it seems that frustration has filtered into the support on social media.
Having reportedly missed out on the likes of Robert Snodgrass and Bojan during the New Year sales, the Riverside faithful have taken to Twitter to vent their annoyance at this transfer gridlock. Though Karanka’s side currently have their heads above water in terms of a relegation battle, fans on social fear their inactivity thus far could lead to a more severe situation on that front in the months to come.
With that in mind, here’s what Boro fans make of it on Twitter.
#boro fans don't expect anything to happen, to be honest I wouldn't want it to now, no one wants a last minute transfer for the sake of it.

it is beginning to dawn on me that #boro might not actually sign anyone today. What the hell has happened?
