Middlesbrough fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are still celebrating their return to the top flight this summer, and now, one of our favourite punters has given them even more reason to get excited.
In for a bit of lunch this afternoon, Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague came with news of a potential big transfer on the horizon for newly promoted Boro.
The Spanish journalist has said that former Barcelona and Man United keeper, Victor Valdes, has – amongst others – an offer on the table to join Aitor Karanka’s side this summer.

To add to the excitement on Teesside the 34-year-old, who has a World Cup, a European Championship and three Champions League wins to his name, has followed the club’s official Twitter account.
according to reports in Gazette Live, representatives from The Riverside are in Spain holding talks with the free agent, who was released by Man United at the end of last season.
