Gibson and Pulis didn’t address full-back position - Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough have started the current campaign strongly and look like they could be challenging for an automatic promotion place at the end of the season.

Boro currently find themselves in a great position having made an incredible start to the current campaign, with promotion to the Premier League in their sights. Indeed, the Championship side drafted in a number of players this summer and have seen drastic improvements in their performances.

But, it looks as if the club’s chairman Steve Gibson and Tony Pulis missed a trick during the summer transfer window.¬†Indeed, Middlesbrough are very light on full-back cover with an injury or a suspension possibly costing them massively in the current campaign.

Fabio Da Silva departed for French side Nantes, which leaves Ryan Shotton and George Friend short on cover if they suffer an injury or have to sit out on the sidelines due to suspension.

It’s important that you gear up properly before the transfer window shuts as it always seems like an age before the transfer window re-opens in January.

Indeed, it’s very rare that sides will be able to secure promotion to the Premier League if there isn’t competition for places from within the squad, as players can become complacent and injuries can have a fatal effect in the long run.
