Middlesbrough have been rather impressive this season as they go on in search of an automatic promotion place.
Boro have been completely redefined under Tony Pulis this season and remain on course of promotion to the Premier League, despite losing their way slightly in recent times.
Indeed, the Middlesbrough boss has been the source of all things brilliant for the Championship club so far this season and has helped a couple of players come on leaps and bounds. Interestingly, Boro have a pretty similar squad to the last campaign but it has been all about how Pulis has managed to bring them together.
With that in mind, here’s a look at TWO players that Pulis has really progressed…
The central midfielder has been Middlesbrough’s standout performer in the current campaign and will no doubt play a crucial part in their push for promotion this season.
Jonny Howson has really come into his own in an advanced position this season and this can be put down to Tony Pulis, as the Englishman has found out how to really get the best out of the midfielder.
Adam Clayton made the move to the Riverside Stadium back in 2014 from Huddersfield Town, but he has never really managed to hit the heights that many thought he would.
But, it’s fair to say that he has started this season strongly and the Englishman’s progression is evident in his performances. He may not always provide assists or be in amongst the goals, but he definitely works hard and comes up with some crucial interceptions in the middle of the park.
