Currently enduring a thoroughly miserable run, the Middlesbrough fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t exactly delighted about goings on right now.
While the Teesiders have looked solid at times this term, they are currently on a run that’s seen them fail to pick up a Premier League point in SEVEN games, leaving them just a paltry point above the drop zone as things stand.
Which is why reports from the Sun have split opinion amongst them in regards to Aitor Karanka even further. The Spaniard isn’t the most popular figure with our drinkers as it is, despite the fact he led them to the English elite last season and he recently publicly criticised the Riverside faithful.
So, the fact he is gearing up to take his side for warm-weather training in Spain has sparked debate today. Karanka has previous in doing this of course, taking his side for similar trips when on poor runs, only to return and win a game. Last season, he took his side to Marbella during a five-match streak without winning, beating Cardiff City on their return.
Similarly, they beat Brentford in their Play-Off semi-final after a trip to his homeland, though some of our locals are worried about the fact the Boro team will return to the North East just 24 HOURS before their game with Everton this weekend. Some of them feel that’s cutting it too close and Karanka will have much to answer for should they lose.
Could this back fire on Karanka? Let us know below…
