Middlesbrough are among many Championship sides in hoping that they can be one of the three to return into the Premier League.
Boro are understandably among the favourites to go up this season and with Tony Pulis as manager, it’s easy to tell why.
A stern defence will be hard for any team to break down and the ability to score goals as well means that Middlesbrough can really fancy themselves at having a real chance at returning to the top flight.
With the January transfer window already fast approaching, Middlesbrough may deem it necessary to delve into the market and see who could potentially improve the squad.
Middlesbrough could well be bolstered with the arrival of Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic and that is a player Tony Pulis must consider signing.
Markovic, who is valued at £7.2 million on Transfermarkt, is a player completely unwanted by Liverpool and if he doesn’t leave in January, he will be going when his contract expires at the end of the season.
That leaves Middlesbrough with the perfect opportunity to buy a talented player and one that could improve their wide play. Despite the 24-year-old only play 78 minutes for the U23’s this season, Markovic is a player who has proven in the past to be a handy addition for any team.
His Liverpool stint though has been anything but successful and loan after loan, he has failed up until this point to find a new home as well.
Middlesbrough could be the side to entrust the Serbian and offering the game-time to prove he is still a decent winger could bring the best out of him.
