Leeds fans buzzing to see Bielsa up for first managerial award of the season

It truly is no surprise to see that Marcelo Bielsa has had his name put forward for the Championship’s manager of the month award. The Argentine has taken what was previously described as an awful Leeds squad and had them playing like prime Barcelona. Maybe that’s a stretch too far, but they’ve been incredible so far this season.

Bielsa has been nominated for the award alongside Middlesbrough boss, TonyPulis, Bolton manager, Phil Parkinson and Blackburn gaffer, Tony Mowbray. Whilst it should be a fairly easy one for the EFL’s panel, it’s hard to discount any of the four managers’ achievements. The four of them all deserve massive plaudits for the way they’ve performed with their squads, but Leeds United’s achievements should just pip the other three.

Leeds and Boro are the only two sides left in the Championship yet to taste defeat and after the sides met and drew at Elland Road last Friday, the way for either of them to lose carries on until after the international break. The Whites travel to The Den to face Millwall after the international weekend and the fans will be keen to see Bielsa’s boys carry on their positive run and get a first win in September to help their Argentine gaffer towards being nominated for September’s manager of the month.

The fans will be keen to see Bielsa pick up the first managerial award of the season and they’ll be hoping his side’s early season form can continue long into the campaign.
