Pontus Jansson took to the press room yesterday where he was asked about the upcoming Middlesbrough clash, the Leeds fans and Marcelo Bielsa and the fans loved every minute of it. One thing the fans enjoyed in particular, though, was when he shared his love for the fans and playing for the club and the Whites mirrored that in their comments.
| Pontus on Leeds fans “This is my second home. I love every second and every minute playing for Leeds United. Some people like me, some people hate me, but I’m happy that the people of Leeds like me”
— Leeds United (@LUFC) 29 August 2018
The Swedish international defender has been at Elland Road since the 2016/17 season. At first, the commanding centre-back was only a loan signing from Torino but after connecting with the fans in his 12 months at the club he made that deal a permanent one in summer 2017. Now, though, he’s a fully fledged fan favourite and he’ll be keen to get the club back into the Premier League in his third full-season with Leeds.
Jansson has made over 80 appearances for the club and has scored himself six goals in that time. He’s also managed to play his way into the Swedish national team whilst he’s been at Elland Road and the next step will be to make himself a first-team regular for Sweden ahead of the Euros in 2020. In the meantime, he’ll be focused on keeping Leeds at the top of the Championship and gaining The Whites’ Premier league status.

Pontus, it's a minority that don't like you playing and you've got a massive backing from 100's of 1000's that don't get to games

The Whites will be keen for Jansson to stick around for as long as possible as they aim to establish themselves in England’s top flight in the coming years.
