Middlesbrough could be about to see one of their men leave the Riverside Stadium as the January transfer window opens.
The Denmark international is expected to team up with the La Liga outfit, however, it is understood that the final terms of a deal are yet to be completed.
Leganes are said to want a clause inserted into the contract allowing them to sign the player for an agreed fee in the summer.
Braithwaite is believed to have been pushing for a move away from the Riverside Stadium for some time, having hoped that a switch would have materialised in the summer.
It would appear that Braithwaite is edging closer to a switch to Leganes, especially with a medical thought to take place on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old, who was signed for a fee of £10.17million by Garry Monk in the summer of 2017 (per Transfermarkt), has played 17 times for the Championship outfit this season and has contributed with three goals.
However, it remains to be seen if Middlesbrough and Leganes can come to an agreement about the final details of a deal as that seems to be the only thing from preventing it from being finalised.
