Our Middlesbrough fans here in the Transfer Tavern are fairly content with how things have gone at the moment but, as per Sky Sports, they have received some bad news recently.
The north east club have gone fairly well this year and will be confident that if they can keep things going they will stay up this season.
Aitor Karanka has done a good job with handling his squad, too, but one man still appears to want out – Gaston Ramirez.
The report claims that the Uruguayan has handed in a transfer request to the club and would like to leave in this window – meaning there’s only a few days to get things sorted.
The transfer market closes for business on Tuesday night and it is thought the player would like to move to Leicester City – one of Boro’s rivals for survival this season.
The Foxes plummet this year is another story to be looked at but for now our landlord reckons Karanka needs to be careful of selling Ramirez to them as it could put their own hopes of staying up at risk.
