Middlesbrough eye move for Premier League player

According to The Mirror, Middlesbrough are looking at signing Hull City’s Harry Maguire in the January transfer window for a reported £6 million.

It’s exciting times here in the Transfer Tavern for our local Boro fans. They’ve already seen the spending power they have available to Aitor Karanka with deals for the likes of Victor Valdes and Viktor Fischer catching the eye.

They feel they can stay up this season, too, if they keep buying players of a good calibre and Maguire would likely fit that bill in an ever improving Boro back line.

The player has had a tough time of it with the Tigers this season in seeing contract negotiations fail to make any real progress and, with his deal to expire at the end of this season, the Teesiders may feel they can make a last ditch offer to tempt the men from the KCOM Stadium to take the money and run.

Maguire has appeared seven times in the Premier League this year with Mike Phelan’s side embroiled firmly in the relegation scrap whilst Boro also have designs on pulling away from the drop zone.
