Middlesbrough looking to capitalise on failed Sunderland deal

Middlesbrough fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been taunting Black Cats fans in the bar this evening as it appears they could be on the brink of completing a deal which Sunderland failed to wrap up.

Italian left back, Davide Santon could be on his way to the Riverside Stadium according to reports from Sport Witness.

It emerged earlier today that Middlesbrough could be in line to sweep up the remains of Sunderland’s failed attempt at signing the Inter Milan player.

The former Newcastle man made just 10 appearances for Mancini’s side this season and has been made aware that he is not part of his manager’s ongoing plans.

Boro have been quite active in the transfer market already this season, having also been linked with Antonio Barragan of Valencia and already brought in Victor Valdes.
