Middlesbrough will return to Championship action on Friday night when they head to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday.
Boro are currently playing well in the division, sitting just three points off the leaders and will be looking to reduce that gap as much as possible.
Tony Pulis will want to see an improvement to his side’s performance though, as they were beaten by Nottingham Forest in their last outing prior to the international break.
But, to make things worse for the Riverside outfit, they will need to wait to see how fit ten of his first-team stars are after playing for their respective nations, according to the club’s official website.
A number of them played on Tuesday night, giving Middlesbrough less time with them to prepare for a tough game against Wednesday, who are in an excellent run of form.
Martian Braithwaite could be a doubt for the trip as he was the last player to return, having only arrived back in the country late on Wednesday.
Pulis was originally angry that the fixture between Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday had been moved forward to Friday night and with the concerns he has, he will have not been best pleased.
Boro will be looking to keep up the pace on their promotion rivals after their defeat to Nottingham Forest, although the test against The Owls could prove to be too much if he does not have all his players available.
Pulis’ side have only essentially had one day to work together ahead of the fixture, but he will still want his team to come away with a positive result from the game.
