Middlesbrough have been very impressive in recent times in the Championship, with a play-off place firmly in their sights at this moment in time.
Tony Pulis has worked wonders this season, despite his side dropping off the pace after an incredible start in the current campaign. Although, it appears as if the Boro boss has lost one of his impressive youngsters, as according to Middlesbrough’s official website, Nathan McGinley has joined Forest Green permanently.
The 22-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at the New Lawn, making 21 appearances so far as Rovers push for promotion.
And, he managed to make his debut for Boro in the Carabao Cup against Notts County earlier on this season.
Nathan McGinley was a very impressive player who just wasn’t given enough chances at the Riverside Stadium, but shined during his loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers and at Forest Green, so it comes as no surprise that he has taken his opportunity by pushing through a permanent deal.
He could have gone on to break into the first-team ranks if he continued to work hard during his current loan spell, but instead the Championship club have had to wave goodbye.
