Leeds face Middlesbrough tonight in what is already being billed as a potential title decider.
Under Bielsa, Leeds have made a brilliant start to the season, and so far remain unbeaten in the league, although they did suffer a loss in the League Cup in midweek.
The Argentinian manager has transformed the Yorkshire club into a high-pressing, relentless team that smother their opponents.
The likes of Kemar Roofe, Samu Saiz and Kalvin Phillips have all been outstanding for the Whites this season and will need to be at their best to beat a tough Boro side under Tony Pulis. Indeed, Boro have only conceded two goals this season, the lowest total in the league.
Hartlepool Mail journalist, Mark Donnelly, however, highlighted Ryan Shotton as a potential weakness in Middlesbrough’s side in an interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Tony Pulis will likely employ a 3-5-2 against Leeds and has so far chosen to play Shotton in a right-wing back role.
The former Stoke man has coped well so far this season but it still remains a role that he’s unfamiliar with. Tonight he’ll have to cope with Barry Douglas – who’s been brilliant so far this year – and also Egjan Alioski who’s become a much better player under Bielsa this season.
It’s going to be a tough game for Leeds but the Whites certainly have the personnel to be able to break down the side although it will be a very tough game tonight.
