Nottingham Forest are well in the promotion mix in the Championship, and with a good Christmas period and potentially some January additions, the Reds could well get themselves back in the top flight.
Manager Aitor Karanka has been superb in getting his team to gel following a host of new signings in the summer, and the likes of Lewis Grabban, Joao Carvalho, and Jack Colback are proving to be shrewd additions at the City Ground.
It is however, as we know, a long hard Championship season, and in order for the Reds to maintain their top six form, we here at the Tavern think some new additions would not go amiss during the winter window.
And one player we think would be a useful addition is current Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke, who finds himself on the periphery of things at Anfield but no doubt itching to get some first team football under his belt.
Given the form of Lewis Grabban, Forest can ill afford to not have appropriate back up or another striking option should Grabban pick up a knock of any sorts, meaning Solanke would be a shrewd addition.
Solanke has shown his form at times when given the chance with Liverpool, but he needs game time if he is to develop further, meaning a move to Forest could be ideal.
The young England man has bags of talent and is full of pace, something clubs in the second tier crave going into the business end of the season. If Solanke does move to Forest, then Aitor Karanka might just lead his team back into the promised land after over a decade in the wilderness.
Forest fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
