Nottingham Forest: Fans fume at Samba following Reading loss - Championship

Many Nottingham Forest fans are fuming with goalkeeper Brice Samba following his error in the Championship defeat they suffered against Reading.

In the first twenty minutes, 23 year-old Ryan Yates was sent off after he cleared a shot from Reading off the line using his hand. However, he was forced into that decision due to a poor error from Samba, as he let the ball slip out of his hands, not claiming a cross with any confidence.

Reading converted the penalty following the handball and it was a daunting task from there for Chris Hughton’s side. Forest could never overcome the challenge as they eventually lost 2-0.

Reading are battling for promotion, whilst Forest are now only two points away from the relegation zone, and five points from the bottom of the table (SofaScore).

Errors like the one from Samba sum up the position the club are in and how low on confidence some of the players are. This will be something Hughton needs to sort out sooner rather than later, but if confidence is an issue Samba probably shouldn’t look at Twitter any time soon.
