Nottingham Forest’s fixture against Reading at the City Ground has been rescheduled for Tuesday 21st January 2020, with a kick-off time of 7:45pm.

The match should have been played on Saturday 26th October, but it was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch (via BBC Sport).

It means that the two clubs are now scheduled to play each other twice in just 10 days, with their reverse fixture at the Madejski Stadium set to take place on Saturday 11th January.

Forest have enjoyed a strong start to the season and sit in 10th place after 13 matches, just two points adrift of second placed Preston North End and with a game in hand on those above them (BBC Sport).

Fans with tickets for the original match will still be able to attend, whilst it has also been confirmed by the club that if supporters cannot attend the rearrangement then they can either swap their ticket for another home game or receive a full refund.

The new date given for the fixture against the Royals hasn’t gone down well with several Nottingham Forest fans, however, many of whom feel that it could have been scheduled for a much earlier date. Meanwhile, others aren’t happy that it will now be played on a date where the weather is likely to be extremely cold.
