Nottingham Forest fans are going crazy over Adlène Guedioura’s performance against West Brom yesterday.
The Algeria international has started his second spell at Forest very strongly, and dominated the midfield at The City Ground.
Fans heaped praise as they described the midfielder as “an absolute beast”, a “pure engine with technique and power”, and that there is “no better midfielder in the Championship”. The Reds look to have a very competitive midfield this season, but Guedioura certainly earned his place in the side.
Forest were unlucky not to come away with the win after Guedioura’s 30-yard strike put the home side ahead on 59 minutes.
He then came close again to scoring the goal of the season and doubling Forest’s lead, when his 60-yard shot was just tipped wide by keeper Sam Johnstone.
Guedioura controlled the midfield alongside Joao Carvalho and Jack Colback, and looked to be heading to victory, until Matty Phillips’ late strike snatched a draw.
Despite Forest only bagging two draws in their opening two fixtures of the season, yesterday’s midfield performance rightly puts them as promotion candidates, and the results are sure to come.
Here is what the fans had to say:

Urgh. For people who weren’t there. I can’t even tell you how good Guedioura was today. Pure engine with technique and power. #nffc

Can someone who was there tell me how good Guedioura was? His name was all you heard on the radio. Sounded as if Carvalho and Osborn also had good games #nffc

Can't say enough good things about Guedioura but a special mention to Grabban who led the line brilliantly tonight. Perfect striker for the game we want to play.
That said, unfortunately Darikwa and Osborn will really struggle against the better sides in this league. #nffc
