Nottingham Forest have arguably performed above expectations in the Championship this season and much of their improvement has been due to the return of Joe Worrall.
The defender had found himself out of favour under previous managers, leading him to spend last season on loan at Rangers – which raised doubt about his Forest future, particularly since there are now five other centre-backs in the squad. However, he has been fiercely determined in his comeback to the City Ground this term and secured a regular starting place in the side, helping his team concede just 31 goals in the 32 league games he has played in.
That form has earned him a new long-term contract, and it is fair to say that many Forest fans are delighted that he has put pen to paper to secure his future at the club until 2024.
Are Nottingham Forest a bigger club than Leeds?
At 23 years of age, he has a lot to offer the club, both on the pitch and possibly off it if he is sold on in future. Worrall is also a Forest boy and that adds to his appeal to the supporters, who have been reacting to the news that he has committed himself to the club.

He absolutely deserves it. I was a little critical of him prior to him going to Rangers but he’s come back this season and played fantastically well. Fair to him!
