Sabri Lamouchi could write himself into Nottingham Forest folklore if he guides the club back into the top division after a 21-year absence, but the work he has done so far has already made him a hugely popular figure.
He has done a very impressive job considering his lack of experience managing in England, as well as taking over in somewhat difficult circumstances after Martin O’Neill was sacked. Since then, he has made many signings across the summer and in January, many of whom have proven astute additions such as Samba Sow and Brice Samba, with the latter keeping 12 clean sheets for the club already.
Sow has also enjoyed a 7.1 average rating from WhoScored despite often missing out in matches, but his ability to perform when called upon is testament to Lamouchi. The Frenchman has had to manage a rather large squad but it seems that he has kept all 25 of his players content throughout the season, given that his side are sitting just one point of the automatic promotion places.
As well as that, the depth he has in his squad and the rotation that is in place may mean his players will not be as fatigued as their rivals towards the end of the season, and that could prove vital in determining which team gets promoted.
Here is some of the praise Lamouchi has received.

Best thing that can happen is that Sabri is given a long term significantly extended contract … no matter what else happens …

We have a leader. A true coach. A real Manager. For the first time in the years (decades) I feel optimistic!

As well as a team with more leaders than we’ve had in years. Having a manager that epitomises leadership is great, particularly without the “politics” – long may it continue #nffc https://t.co/En5OZPub4P
