Although fans would not have been pleased seeing Nottingham Forest suffered a second defeat in a row when they were beaten by Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, however it seems they were delighted to see Samba Sow back in action.
Sabri Lamouchi’s side went behind as the hosts managed to take a two-goal lead through Christopher Schindler and Steve Mounie.
Joe Worrall managed to get one back for the visitors but it simply wasn’t enough to give the play-off challengers what they needed to get back into the game (BBC).
Whilst the failure to pick up any points would have damped the festive cheer amongst the City Ground faithful, it seems some could not stop smiling about having Sow back in the side.
The 30-year-old Malian had been out on the sidelines since their victory against Brentford at the beginning of October, therefore missing a total of 10 Championship matches (per TransferMarkt).
A number of fans had reacted to his inclusion prior to kick-off, whilst a plethora of them commented how good it was just to have him back on the pitch once the full-time whistle had gone.
Here are just some of their reactions…
That was much better than 1st half horror show last week. Great that Sow is back, and we will only get stronger as he gets more game time under his belt. And we’re still only winning that game in hand away from being in play-offs. So still plenty of reasons to be positive. #NFFC

How the fudge is Trevor Chalobah still on the pitch? Sow is a MASSIVE plus. You could even feel safe going two up front with him and Watson in the middle, date I say it…..#nffc

Sow doing the business, front 4 not doing enough at the minute. Silva to far away from Grabban. #nffc

Sow’s the only alpha in a team full of betas #NFFC

For me Sow was our best signing in the summer. At the time it looked a bit indulgent stockpiling defensive midfielders but he’s an absolute boss who gives us something we were badly missing #nffc
