Nottingham Forest: Fans gush over Ben Watson’s performance against West Bromwich Albion

Whilst a number of Nottingham Forest fans would have been celebrating the fact that they were able to steal a point from West Bromwich Albion in a rather controversial and feisty affair on Saturday afternoon, many of them still found the time to take to Twitter and praise Ben Watson.
Indeed, the game was without its key moments throughout the 90 minutes, but Matty Cash’s superb goal in the dying moments of the game meant Sabri Lamouchi’s side would be heading back to the City Ground with a hard-fought point (BBC).
As mentioned, Watson appeared to win a number of plaudits on social media for his performance in the middle of the park for the Tricky Trees, with some using the adjective “outstanding” when discussing how they felt about the former Watford man’s most recent display.
WhoScored’s data suggested he had a telling contribution throughout the game, having made one key pass which led to an assist, winning four aerial duels and making five total tackles, three interceptions and one clearance in his 7.9 rated showing.
Here are what just some of the Nottingham Forest faithful had to say about the experienced 34-year-old on Twitter…
Despite the injustices, it’s a good point for #NFFC
Lolley threatening on the counter, super delivery by Ameobi for the 1st, Watson superb for the umteenth time this season. Credit to Diakhaby for keeping the ball alive for the 2nd, Cashy take a bow you son, you don’t save those

Absolutely incredible strike by @mattycash622 to salvage a point.
Also kudos to Watson who was very calm in the build-up.
It felt important and changes the entire mood around the club.

I wasn't his biggest fan at the start of the season, but Ben Watson was outstanding today. #nffc

Loved that from Cash. Thought Watson was fantastic and Samba kept us in it. Sloppy going forward but didn’t deserve to lose, especially not given Stroud’s nonsense #NFFC
