Joe Worrall’s performance against Leeds United in Saturday evening’s late Championship fixture had a number of Nottingham Forest fans gushing on social media.
Sabri Lamouchi’s side put together a solid display against one of their promotion rivals as goals from Sammy Ameobi and Tyler Walker were enough to give the Tricky Trees all three points and close the gap between the two clubs to just one point (Sky Sports).
Indeed, Worrall played a huge part in helping Forest pick up the victory, as he put in an outstanding performance at the back. According to the data collected by WhoScored, the 23-year-old made one total tackle, three interceptions, seven clearances and blocked one shot as he was handed a match rating of 7.25.
The centre-back’s performance certainly did not go unnoticed by the City Ground faithful on Twitter, as many of them took to the social media site shortly after the final whistle to wax lyrical over the enforcer. One word that appeared to be a recurring theme was ‘immense’, which just goes to highlight how well he performed.
Here are just some of their reactions…
Samba Sow, outstanding. Marty Cash a revelation. Lolley unplayable. Watson, Worrall, Figs. Could name them all. From 1 to 11 they work so hard. Not sure I’ve seen a Forest side as organised & solid defensively in the 21 years I’ve been going. #nffc
