Nottingham Forest fans would have been furious that their side were unable to take any of the points against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon and Ben Watson hardly appeared to improve their mood following the conclusion of the game.
A second defeat on the bounce for Sabri Lamouchi’s side slip further down the Championship table and leave them three points short of a play-off spot as the campaign heads into the half-way stage.
Goals from Christopher Schindler and Steve Mounie were enough to see of the Tricky Trees, although the visitors were given some hope when Joe Worrall reduced the deficit (BBC).
Indeed, fans anger regarding the result would have been justified, however it appears many of them were furious with what they had seen from veteran midfielder, Watson.
According to the data collected by WhoScored, the 34-year-old managed just one tackle, one interception and one blocked shot but failed to have an attacking influence in the game; which perhaps led to the worst match rating of all his Nottingham Forest team-mates with a 5.96 score.
Fans were highly critical of Watson on Twitter, with many calling for Lamouchi to take him out of the first-team at the soonest possible moment.
Here are some of their reactions…
Frustrating again this afternoon, Watson needs a rest, Chema offers nothing attacking wise as LB (crossing was woeful), Silva had a stinker, toothless again until we upped the tempo late on. Unlucky to not get a point, 2 very poor goals conceded #nffc

What did we learn today?
Tiago Silva need to Shoot more. Watson and Amoeibi need a rest.
All transfer funds need to go into the attack.
Sabri needs to avoid losing the next 3 games or he will be out #nffc

The problem with s Watson. Plays behind the back 4 at times and leaves a gap where he should be. Too slow for this league and he creates problems in the shape of the team. Time for younger legs base of midfield
